Entrepreneurs: It's time to get moving as the economy picks up

Chancellor George Osborne today declared that the UK economy was “out of intensive care” after GDP grew by 0.3% in the last quarter, and the outlook for growth is improving.

Now, one of the special skills of entrepreneurs is the ability to recognise an opportunity when it comes along; react quickly to it; and take advantage of it. And the big opportunity that’s here for entrepreneurs is to get your business ideas launched Right Now! This way, you will have things in position, up and running just at the time that people and businesses start buying again later this year.

So get prepared; get going; and get the rewards as the economy grows out of recession. Take action today!

How To Become A Successful Home Business Entrepreneur

By

If you are looking for a business opportunity, or perhaps you are already a successful person looking for a new direction to challenge yourself, then there are some outstanding home business concepts that are definitely worth a look. You may already be a successful entrepreneur, in which case you understand that recognising opportunities means everything when it comes to being successful.
For the less experienced, all you need is to be willing to learn and stay focused and you will be rewarded with the same success as the experienced and established business men and women around the world. Learn to follow their lead.
There is a misconception that you have to be born an entrepreneur. It was thought that the ability, skill and desires were a trait you either did or didn't have. The truth is entrepreneurs learn to do what they do plus they learn to be who they are. So in fact they are made not born.
Everyone is different, however there are some common characteristics successful entrepreneurs tend to posses:
  • A strong passion to achieve their goals
  • A spirit for adventure
  • A desire to achieve personal accomplishment
  • Self confident and self reliant
  • Persistence and motivation
  • Hard working
  • Positive mental attitude
  • Strong sense of commitment
  • Innovative, creative and versatile
If this describes you, then you need to take action. Put your skills and talent to work building a successful business and home based business concepts are the models of the 21st century. A home business will increase your income and improve your personal success, and success will come from taking risks and working hard.
If you are looking for more in your life, either professionally, socially or personally, you need to consider a home business. The doors of opportunity that can open for you are endless. And once you learn to recognise opportunity your success will continue to grow, endlessly. Imagine the benefits to not only you, but your family friends and even people you don't know. Entrepreneurs help people all over the world in many ways, and may never meet them.
Financial freedom allows you to leverage your time to other opportunities. This may be in the form of another business, or perhaps your favourite charity, an around the world trip perhaps to write a book. Whatever your dream is, you can have it, once you have the financial success which allows you to leverage your time and channel your abilities in other directions. This is what being an entrepreneur is all about, and you can get is from working your own home business.
If you're up to the challenge you should investigate the home based businesses that are available, find one that appeals to you and get started today. To the already successful, knowledge and experience will motivate that sixth sense. And to the novice ready to start their journey to success - accept the challenge. Go for it and success will be yours.
I discovered the perfect home business to begin my entrepreneurial journey. Financially and personally my life has changed for good, success is now something I strive for not wish for. I've learnt to recognize opportunity and embrace it. I no longer fear the unknown and I am sharing my knowledge and personal growth to help others achieve their own success. How To Start Your Own Business (It's Not Easy)

By Josh Haynam
What makes a Steve Jobs or Bill Gates? Why are they different from you? Or are they?

It can be awfully frustrating to look around and see success everywhere when your own life isn't all you dreamed of, but don't lose hope, here are the top traits that lead to growth of your own business.

1. Constant Positive Attitude

This is the hardest thing on this list to pull off. After all, how many people actually have a positive outlook all the time? However, it's also the most important thing on this list because a positive attitude is contagious. When embarking on any adventure, a positive attitude will rub off on everyone you interact with, including customers. Your clients will appreciate that you did that for them and will be more likely to come back (and give you more money)

2. Scary Persistence

If your friends and family don't worry about how hard you try to make things work out, you are not persistent enough. Starting a business is highly stressful, totally demeaning at times, and the outcome looks bleak most of the time. However, one day it will all come together and your business will work. The founder of Netflix has a cool story to share about this. He had been working on the idea for a few years and things weren't working out. He was broke and his car was broken down so he was walking to the bus stop. On that walk he got a text saying Netflix had almost magically reached 1 million users.

3. Vision With Blinders

You've got to keep your eyes on the prize. It's impressively depressing to look at other successful businesses while your own company is struggling to survive. One look around can put you in such a bad state of mind that you give up. Tunnel vision is a necessary component of success.

4. Devotion

Your going to have to love whatever you start with, because your gonna be doing it for a long time. If you start a business purely to make money, that might work, but what if it takes 3 years for your idea to get off the ground? Then your stuck doing something you hate, and not getting paid for what will feel like forever. If you want true success, and to feel like a success, you've got to do something the you love - otherwise making money will be like pulling teeth.

Hear about success! Get Inspired!

Want to Start a Business? 5 Thoughts That May Be Holding You Back

By Rachel Zivkovic
Do you really want to start a business but just can't seem to get started?

If so, your lack of action is probably the result of wrong thinking. 'Wrong thinking' is any thought that you have that delays or impairs your ability to take action. Wrong thinking over-complicates a process (the process of starting a business) that does not need to be complicated!

The process of starting a business is a simple one. It involves:

deciding on a business idea
refining your business idea so that you understand the 'who, what, when, where and how' of what you are trying to accomplish
taking constant action
Many aspiring business owners fail to become business owners because they cannot seem to make it past Step 1 (or even worse, fail to make it to Step 1 at all!).

A lot of the time, this comes down to one (or more) of five thoughts that seriously impair your ability to take action. These thoughts are:

I need to 'find my passion' first!

'Finding' passion is a ridiculous concept, as passion (by its very nature) is NEVER hidden. You absolutely know what you are passionate about, and you may be conflicted because none of these passions seems to work as a business idea.

Deciding on a business idea does not need to have anything to do with passion. Rather, it has everything to do with who you are as a person, what you are capable of, what you want to achieve, your financial situation, resources and much more!

You will never find passion by searching for it. Passion is a result of taking action on your goals and seeing the fruits of your efforts.

If you think you need to find your passion before you can start your business, think again! Start your business first, and you will be filled with passion after.

I don't have enough money!

Do you ever stop to think about why you don't have enough money to start a business?

Could it possibly be because you spend your entire day consuming the creativity of the people around you, without offering any creativity in return?

People rarely understand the concept of 'creativity give and take'. Everything you use on a daily basis and every service you pay for whilst you sleep (electricity, phones, internet, and so on) are the result of someone else's creativity; and you are paying for it. Who is paying for your creativity?

Don't allow a lack of money to stop you from starting a business. There are plenty of ways to start a business without a lot of money - it just takes dedication and a little extra creativity! And once you start to provide this creativity to the people around you, the issue of money will (over time) begin to diminish.

I'm too tired to start a business!

Unfortunately, being too tired to make an effort on your business goal is usually the result of not having started your business in the first place.

Being too tired often happens because what you are doing in your daily life is against your natural inclination. You may be in a job you hate, be doing something that is not expanding your mind, or have simply allowed yourself to get into a 'rut'.

People are rarely very tired because they are too busy. They are tired because they are depressed. If you start your business and decide to start pursuing what you really want, then the creative energy that fills your body and your mind will destroy that tired feeling and you will achieve more than you ever thought possible.

So do whatever you have to do to push yourself to get started. Because starting is the only way to rid yourself of constantly feeling tired.

I don't like my business ideas!

If you keep coming up with business ideas and discarding them, it may not be the idea that's wrong...it might be your approach.

Business ideas are like bright, shiny new objects. They look great at the start, you can't wait to make them yours, and you are sure that if you could just get hold of them - your life would be so much better! However after a while, they lose their appeal. They start to require a bit of work, problems begin to appear and before long, you are looking for a different shiny, new object that will give you that great starting feeling again.

If you have been doing this, stop now. You could spend the rest of your life coming up with great business ideas and discarding them. That will not change your life. Next time you are about to discard a business idea, ask yourself whether the next one is really going to be 'better', or whether you are giving up on the one you have too soon.

I don't know what the next big thing will be!

Waiting to start a business because you think you need a revolutionary idea is as ridiculous as trying to uncover your passion.

The next big thing is what you make it. Determining the future of consumerism is the job of existing business owners (to ensure they can evolve their product or service and survive). As an aspiring business owner, your job is to come up with a business idea that suits you.

The next big thing could be a fantastically packaged cheesecake! It does not matter. Forget trying to come up with 'the next big thing' and just pick something that is right for you. This will give you a much greater chance of success in the future.

So, do any of these thoughts resonate with you? If so, take stock of them and decide once and for all that you will not let them prevent you from taking action any further.

Yes, deciding to make a change in your life is scary. Worrying about failure can be terrifying. But do you know what is even more terrifying? Living a life of unrealized dreams.

Nothing should terrify you more than that!

10 ways to listen, lead and succeed

By Ann Skidmore of the Entrepreneurs Business Academy

As a corporate coach I have worked with many leaders, but the person who inspired me the most worked in the airport industry and took a “back to the floor” approach.
From time to time he would roll up his sleeves to get stuck in, in every department: washing dishes in the cafes, handling baggage and so on. In finding time to show people that he appreciated them, and to find their concerns, he was saying: “I want to understand what you do – because what you do counts.”
No matter how big or how junior the role, everyone on the team should feel they share a vision and should know that they are valued. A strong leader does more than motivate; he or she drives the team culture, while also encouraging the team to be fully accountable and responsible for achieving their common goal.
A good leader knows they can’t achieve everything on their own. Fabulous teams have a sense of purpose and understand their objectives.
Managing and leading people is highly rewarding when you have the tools to do it well, but most people learn as they go along, and some fall by the wayside, losing confidence in the process. So much about leadership is about managing team dynamics – and power dynamics.
When you have several people in the same room, each representing the interests of their own department – marketing, finance, etc – there will be times when there are clashes and unhelpful behaviour. Instead of the leader, someone else within the team holds the power, and is diverting attention to dampening the energy.
If something happens in a meeting to prevent co-operation, it must also be happening on a daily basis.
An effective leader will listen and help individuals to respect each other and work together as a fully functioning team. The leader (perhaps with the help of a coach) needs to ensure there is a strategy of action put in place so that he or she and the team commit to changing unhelpful behaviour.
We are all leaders in some aspect of our lives – the key is to get help in acquiring the key skills that enable us to lead effectively.
A team becomes successful when the business leader:
1. Has a sense of purpose and encourages a common vision. A team takes its cue from the attitude and behaviour of the person who leads them.
2. Communicates openly and honestly – and is authentic in approach. This is the boss who says: “Good morning, how are you today?” and means it, rather tahn rushing through the office with a curt “Morning” on the way to a meeting.
3. Makes sure body language echoes their intentions. There is no point in saying to a team member: “I can give you all the time you need”, if you signal the opposite message by constantly checking your watch.
4. Clearly defines roles and responsibilities and encourages support and trust within the team.
5. Conducts effective meetings, where everyone can contribute - by taking clear decisions but making time to listen to others’ points of view.
6. Encourages tolerance of others’ differences and constructive resolution of conflict – by encouraging a culture of personal responsibility rather than a culture of blame.
7. Reviews results and working practices, while encouraging a sense of pride in personal achievements. Take time to celebrate scaling the first mountain before climbing the next one.
8. Remains self-aware. Being mindful of the impact he or she has on others and maintaining a flexible approach.
9. Respects and co-operates with others inside and outside the organisation. In a small business, every relationship within the network counts. You are only ever as strong as your weakest link.
10. Leads by example. Where the leader leads, others will follow.

James Caan: My favourite Dragons Den entrepreneur

Written by Andrew Walker, BizSkills2000 Ltd.

I don't know how much attention you pay to "Dragons Den" these days. Personally, I've
slightly gone off the main programme and find instead that the follow-up What Happened Next
spin-offs are far more interesting. Sometimes you can pick up a good idea or a useful tip in
amongst the general business chit-chat.

Anyway, I just wanted to talk a little about my favourite Dragon and that's James Caan. He
comes across on TV as calm and thoughtful - "quiet" even, given that entrepreneurs generally
have plenty to say for themselves! And did any of you cricket fans out there hear his interview
with Jonathon Agnew on Radio 4's Test Match Special a few weeks ago? He's a busy, busy
guy with plenty to fill his life but what impresses me about him as a businessman and as a
human being is his ability to show compassion and care about the people he's doing business
with or trying to help through his charitable trust.

James' interview at the cricket was just a few days after the devastating flooding in Pakistan,
the country of his birth, and he was jumping on a plane to fly there straight after the interview
finished. His intention was to go out to some of the villages that had been destroyed; to see
what needed to be done; and to use his own money to help the poor villagers to rebuild their
homes and their lives.

An inspiring and touching story you may be thinking - but why have I posted it on a blog site
dedicated to the spirit of entrepreneurism?

Well the answer to that springs from something I mentioned in an earlier blog on this site, the
piece called “Take A Break: Why doing nothing for a day is good for your business”. In there
I spoke briefly about what happens when you've earnt far more money than you realistically
need so that other "rewards" start to have more value to you than just earning yet more
money. One of these rewards was the opportunity to "buy" time for you and your family by
being able to pay others to do tasks for you. This is a concept that we are all sort of aware of
but the first time that I saw the concept staring straight back at me in black and white so to
speak was in the pages of “How Come That Idiot’s Rich & I’m Not?” and it hit me then how
right the author Robert Shemin was.

Now, getting back to James Caan and his mercy flight to Pakistan, another
entrepreneurs "reward" that Robert Shemin explained and strongly advocated was the
entrepreneurs capability (because of his/her great personal wealth) to "give" to others. And
for grasping and implementing this concept whole-heartedly as a man, and through his
charitable foundation the James Caan Foundation, I believe that James Caan should be
warmly regarded and praised for all his good work.

If reading the biographies of the rich and famous is your thing, then I heartily recommend that
you read James' book “The Real Deal: My Story From Brick Lane to Dragons Den” about the
story of his life. It's my personal favourite out of all the biographies I have read because of
the warmth of James' thoughts and the focus he has always put on people, whether they be
customers, colleagues, friends or family members. So, when you've done your day's work, put
your feet up and "reward" yourself by reading the inspiring personal story of a really nice guy.
Enjoy!

How You Can Start Living Your Dream Starting Today?

By Mamiko Ito

If money was not an issue, what would you like to do? It is one of the questions I always like to ask in my coaching sessions. Many people tell me that they want to spend more time with their family, build a school for orphans, travel around the world - all are beautiful dreams. But most dreams are too vague and lack in both timeline and immediate action. This is why people don't really fell excited and get lost in daily life of busyness.

We all have dreams for someday - someday when I have more money and time, someday when my children grow up, someday when I'm more experienced in my job... but when is "someday"? We often use lack of money or time as an excuse for not doing anything. And if you are enduring hard work and stress for 40 years in order to retire rich to enjoy your life, you are missing out the best time in your life. Remember time will never be perfect and the universe will never set up everything for you. But when you say "I'm going to do this no matter what", the universe will provide you all the resources you need to achieve your goal.

Vision without action is a daydream. Action without vision is a nightmare.- Japanese proverb

Instead of waiting for "someday", why don't you set smaller dreams every 6-12 months that excite you and pump up your adrenalin? If you want to travel around the world, why don't you start with one month back-packing in Asia? If you want to spend more time with your family, set a more specific goal like going for a camping trip in New Zealand for 2 weeks. If you want to build a school in India, contact non-profit organization that is involved in the same area, find out how much it costs to build a school and raise fund by organizing a charity event, or sign up as a volunteer trip for 3 weeks?

When you break down your dream into smaller chunks, most of them will look more realistic. And it often costs much less than what you think. For example, round the world ticket of from LA, Hong Kong, Bangkok, India, Europe, NY to LA costs only US$2,289. Sailing around the world for a year costs much less than paying a rent for a year. A brand new Porsche Carrera can costs $430,000-440,000 but second hand can costs less than $100,000. Building a school in a third-world country costs as low as $8,500.

If you change location, things can be much more affordable. With $550 a month, you can live in a penthouse apartment in Buenos Aires. A full-course French dinner with candlelight costs only $15 in Bali. How about a beautiful private pool villa in Bali for $135 a night?

Here is the next step. When you picked a dream, decide when you want to make it happen. If you want it in 6 months, divide the price of your dream by 6, if 12 months, divide by 12. For example, if your timeline is 12 months, your round the world ticket costs only $190 a month. A school in Africa costs $708 per month. Does it sound more achievable? Definitely! Once you figure out your dream, timeline and cost of your dream, the "how" will come in much easier.

Difference between rich people and poor people is when they see someone very successful, rich people think of "how" they can do to be like them while poor people think of excuses why they can't be like them. Having smaller but exciting goals make you more excited and productive at work. Once you taste the zest of your dream, I'm sure you'd love to do it again and again.

Put the picture of your dream vacation, mark the calendar, make a dream account and start putting money. Start talking to people about your dream so that you feel more committed to make it happen.

Talk to people who have done what you'd like to. They'll share all the experiences, tricks and tips and you'll be more convinced to make it happen. You can even book a non-refundable ticket to really push you!

When you start feeling what it is like to live your dream, you'll attract more of what you want. Let's stop living for "someday" and start living a dream you've always wanted. Someday will never come if you wait. You have to go out and make it happen. What are you going to do next?

Investing Money in a Most Valuable Commodity: YOU

By Bernadette Doyle

Imagine this: You receive word that a special event, hosted by a world-renowned expert, is being offered. This grabs your attention because you've been wanting, for a long while, to expand this area of your business. You'll need to pay to fly to the far-away city; pay for lodging, meals, cab fares...plus, of course, the enrollment fee for the workshop.
In all, you tally that the total cost will come out to about $10,000: a lot of money; a real leap of faith, you think.
Nevertheless, you reserve your spot, buy your plane ticket, and book your hotel. Once you arrive in the booming metropolis that's hosting this grand event, you have about ten bucks in your pocket - not even enough to score a cab ride to your hotel. So, you end up on the bus, shoulder-to-shoulder with other down-trodden individuals, lamenting your choice and knowing that you'll be taking full advantage of the buffet breakfasts at the hotel and the lunches at the training program (because there won't be any money for nice dinners).
You've gotten yourself into a tough spot, right? You've spent what's practically your last dollar on something that may or may not work to boost your business.
But let's consider the rest of the story:
The information that you gather in the three days you spend at the seminar enliven your spirits; you fly back home knowing exactly how you'll tackle your next hurdle; you have a plan for boosting profits; the professional advice you've gotten is unlike anything you could have anticipated. Specifically, you leave knowing exactly how to offer high-end coaching programs. You'd wanted to tackle this for a long time, but hadn't the knowledge or the confidence to do so.
One year after the workshop, following the launch of your new high-end coaching program, you tally your profits from the coaching portion of your business at over $300,000. Suddenly, riding the bus, skipping dinner, and fretting over the "mistake" you'd made seem silly. What's $10,000 compared to $300,000? A drop in the bucket, to say the least.
This specific scenario is only a hypothetical, but I have heard similar stories in real life. Here's what you can learn about investment versus cost:
Firstly, don't think in terms of cost. As long as you can afford to lose the initial investment, and the investment is something that has the potential to boost your business, push the initial dollar amount out of your mind.
Secondly, concentrate on the investment's potential. Sure, the cost might be significant, but what future earning potential will it uncover? Do you anticipate a return on your money, and if you do, how many times over will you cover the initial cost?
Thirdly, and in summary, when you make an investment in YOU, the cash is never lost...it's simply redirected. The money might have moved to a different sector of the economy, but it's not gone. You will always be able to identify what the money earned for you: experience, hindsight, and knowledge with which to move forward to the next investment opportunity.
In order to grab and hold onto a millionaire mindset, you must open your mind to investment possibilities. Next time you're faced with a decision to invest, rather than saying "It's too much," consider asking yourself, "What's it worth?"
If the answer outshines the question, then don't hesitate to invest in your most valuable commodity: YOURSELF!

Business Obstacles - Are They All Solvable?

By Bernadette Doyle

What is the difference between someone who is really successful and the place you find yourself in right now? Do you think they had fewer challenges or obstacles? Do you think they had special talents or skills? Do you think they had endless supplies of capital? Or did they simply approach obstacles with a completely different mindset?
Turn your Obstacles into Reasons Why
A good friend of mine by the name of Carrie Wilkerson has a saying that I love. Incidentally she is known as the Barefoot Executive. She says that you have to turn your obstacles into reasons why. So when you look at your business and the challenges that you are facing you have to turn them on their head. Instead of them being the reason that you back off, they need to be the reason why you move forward.
For example: I knew that at one point in my business I did not have the resources I needed to grow my business. That obstacle became the reason why I needed to fix it. I wanted to grow my business so it didn't matter that I didn't have the resources, because I wanted to, I needed to find a solution. As another example: Because I didn't have enough money to hire an assistant or someone to help me in my business. That was exactly why I needed to overcome that obstacle. It may sound crazy, but adjusting your mindset and approach to obstacles is one of the most empowering things that you can do for your business. It takes you from a place of looking at an obstacle in defeat to being determined to find a solution to overcoming it.
Tips to help you believe that all Obstacles are solvable
• Recognize that you are a talented individual that has achieved amazing things in your business so far. Look back on your accomplishments. They can encourage you to keep pressing on towards your goals.
• The mere fact that you are reading up on ways to overcoming obstacles and growing your business means that you are already taking a step in the right direction. It is something to be applauded.
• Listen to that feeling inside that says you want to achieve more. That desire to want to play a bigger game and achieve a greater level of success is what will help drive you and find solutions.
• Don't stop. Don't back down from a challenge or give up at an obstacle. Turn it around and make it your reason why you need to overcome it.
Sometimes many of the reasons people back down from a challenge is because of their personal fears or insecurities. You need to remember that obstacles seldom just go away, and problems don't just solve themselves. All obstacles can be solvable if you keep working towards solving them. But you need to put in the effort. You may not have the solutions in a day or a week, but over time your concerted and dedicated efforts are sure to pay off.

Thinking About How to Start Your Own Business? Consider This Advice

By Adam Gleason

Are you thinking about how to start your own business? Is job security in doubt for you, no matter how long you've been employed in your present job? Does it seem as though there is less work to go around? Look around you, is the atmosphere of your workplace a bit more somber than usual?
Then it's probably time to start your own business now.
Ask people who've owned their own businesses, and they will urge you to stop working for other people. There's nothing quite like the freedom of being self-employed. They will tell you that they cannot even imagine being anything but working for themselves. Not only are they their own boss and get to set their own hours, being self-employed has improved their quality of life, giving them the opportunity to always be there for their family--something that most other people, those who don't own their businesses, can't usually enjoy.
With that said, the first steps on how to start your own business and continuing to enjoy the benefits of being self-employed can be very hard work. Especially when first starting out, you need to accept the fact that there will be many lessons to be learned and many adjustments that will need to be made along the way-both to your business, yourself, and your loved ones.
If you start your business now, you will have many experiences unlike what you've been expecting. You will see that being self-employed is tremendously different from working for someone else and it takes much more than just simple desire to be successful.
When you work for someone else, you usually have a boss of some sort, a specific set of responsibilities and you are accountable to others. Your boss is there to guide every piece of the business, and your role is secondary at best. But when you are self-employed, you are the boss and you are responsible for just about every facet of your business. Many times, especially when first starting out, you will not only be the boss, but you will also be the book-keeper, personnel manager, project manager, clerical staff, supplies or procurement officer, as well as whatever job title you have for the job or service you actually provide.
When you are self-employed, you can't blame any problem on the boss. There is no one to report to other than yourself. Yes, there are clients that you have some level of responsibility and accountability to, but when it comes to whether they are happy or not happy with your services, you are the only one involved in that process. There is no boss to write you up if you do poorly and there is no boss to give you a pat on the back when you do a great job. It's just you being accountable for you.
On the flip side, if you do make a blunder, who will be there to admonish you but yourself? There's no fear of your mistake appearing on your annual evaluation, or of a cut in your salary, or even a demotion. Even better, if your company makes a big sale or achieves a milestone, who but you will take all the glory and the credit? Hey, this is something you will enjoy right away if you start your own business now!
Are you wondering if you have the right personality traits of successful entrepreneurs? Some studies will tell you that it takes a type A personality to be successfully self-employed. Others disagree and say that it just takes certain traits and not one specific type of personality. In actuality, it doesn't necessarily take a type A personality to start your own business or be successfully self-employed. However, it might be a good idea to examine your own personality traits while you think about how to start your own business.
If you are a quick learner, then you'll be perfect to start your own business now. You'll find yourself learning things like finances and marketing. You'll learn how to account for the business' revenue and expenses, and how to project yourself and what your business offers out to the rest of the world. Even if you consider yourself a bit on the shy side, if you believe in yourself and your business goals, you will unconsciously bring yourself out of your shell in order to achieve your dreams.
You are wise to do some research on the topic of how to start your own business, and on the type of business that you are thinking of starting, so that you can be clear on the effort, investment, and hard work that it will entail. Thoughtful Entrepreneurs - Uncover 7 Ways To Convert Knowledge Into Money

By Beverly K Taylor

You can convert your expertise into money. How? By making information products containing your expertise. Tell your story about how you triumphed over adversity. Share your passion in the form of information products and a coaching program that shows your niche market a way can be found to improve their situation. You already have a sphere of influence when it comes to your trade or expertise. You already know something that can improve things. Your expertise is worth money. And rightly so! Keep reading to uncover how to use the internet to convert your knowledge into money:
1. Read through online discussion boards and look at the complaints of people. Look for patterns of complaints. Connect with these people empathetically by sharing solutions that actually relieve their pain and suffering. This will attract people to your website and convert them into paying customers and clients.
2. By recognizing the complaints found on discussion boards, you can see what information products to make and sell to your niche market. Make a product for each step of your system or process for solving the individual problems found within your profession. This is another way to bring in supplement revenue together with your amazing coaching program.
3. Promote your information products by developing the amazingly effective marketing technique called article marketing. Even if you think you are not a writer, you really are. You do write emails, correct? You do send birthday cards or other types of greeting cards, right? Well, that makes you a writer. Just write from your heart about ideas to improve your ideal prospect's common complaints that no one else has solved. They will get the message that you really do care about them and are the 'go to' source to solve their problems.
4. Thoroughly do market research and find a niche that already has money to pay you to share your expertise before you start creating information products. It is better to pick something you know or that you are interested in knowing.
5. Build a list and market your expert knowledge to your list. You do this by exchanging an ebook or an audio download in exchange for the prospect's email address. After you get the email address, stay in touch sending them more and more solutions to their problems. This is how you build your relationship and trust with your prospect.
6. Do an email marketing campaign that shares your knowledge and information to improve the lives of your niche.
7. Hire a coach to help you streamline your process of sharing your knowledge globally. It will save you time, money and frustration in the long run.
By the way, do you want to learn more about using articles like this to drive traffic to your website and increase your income online?

Taking Control of Your Life - Just Get Started

By K. MacKillop

You know how when you buy a new car you suddenly see other cars just like that everywhere you go? Before you bought it, you never noticed them at all...but now they seem to be all over the place! The same sort of thing happens once you take the first step into entrepreneurship. That is, seeking out the first opportunity and taking steps to pursue it very often expose a multitude of other opportunities as well. All you have to do is take the first step!
Most wealthy, successful entrepreneurs will tell you that they changed direction a number of times from their first startup idea. For some, the final result is just a variation of the original idea, such as a real estate agent jumping into the house flipping industry. One entrepreneur started out with an online car part retail store. A few months after launching, a former metal worker contacted her about partnering to market customized parts. A few months after that, an interested investor financed the launch of a full garage for fabricating specialty parts and customizing street racers!
For others, the change is far more dramatic. Another entrepreneur started out with a dog training business but ended up a regional flooring distributor! The training company was doing just fine, but the income was limited by the number of hours he could train. A client mentioned an open distributorship in the flooring industry and he jumped at the opportunity. Less than one year later, the training facility is run by a staff of employees and the distributorship is rockin' along as well.
Stories like these are very common in the world of entrepreneurship. A recent documentary called Lemonade is about the different paths that laid off ad folks have taken. The guy who made the documentary? He started out launching an advertising industry job board, but when the opportunity to make the documentary came along, he grabbed it and ran. Now, he is focusing his work efforts on creating more documentaries...and loving every minute of it!
The key to really taking control of your work life and financial future is twofold. First, just get started in the right direction. Second, be ready to seize opportunities as they come along. The more hooks you have in the water, the more likely you are to snag a few fish. Don't limit yourself to the ideas you have right now. Entrepreneurship is a learning process. No matter how much schooling or work experience you have, there will be hard lessons and realities that surprise you on your path to success. The trick is to take advantage of every situation and always be looking for the next foothold up the cliff.
Whatever your goals for taking control of your life, just get started. Look for the obvious business ideas, pay attention to what the people around you need. Figure out what you know and what you don't know about entrepreneurship and take steps to fill in the gap. Don't wait for the perfect idea, get going now with a good enough idea! The first one may not make you rich, but it will get you on track to find the right opportunities that will change your life!

Personal Leadership Development Plan - Your Starting Point To Success

By Sean McLaughlin and Tegan Hadley

If you truly want to become a successful leader, you need to utilize a personal leadership development plan. All of our great leaders, young or old, have one thing in common. They are all great goal setters and have a plan set in place which provides a pathway for them to be able to live their greatest dreams and desires. They know exactly what they want before they set their goals; simply wishing for success is not enough.
You need to be absolutely determined if you truly want to stand up and move towards your goals and dreams. The main difference between leaders and followers lies in the fact that leaders will do the things that followers do not like to do. Leaders have a purpose strong enough to be able to form the habits of doing the things they don't want to do, in order to obtain the results they wish to obtain.
Here are some crucial steps for your personal leadership development plan:
• Be prepared to do what it takes to achieve your dreams. Saying you want a big house, a luxury yacht or a sports car is all a very nice idea, but the point is... are you willing to pay the price to obtain them? Remember, this is the primary difference between the leaders of the world, and the followers.
• Take 100% responsibility for your life. To blame a situation or another person is saying they have control of your life and not you. Don't let someone else's opinion of you become your reality.
• Act immediately. Stop procrastinating and make the decision to start in your quest to become successful. We don't know how much time we have to achieve our dreams, but we do know that we don't have forever. Successful leaders understand this, and instead of viewing it as a negative platform, they use it as an opportunity to motivate and inspire themselves enough to take the step into leadership.
• Leaders live their lives with purpose. If you have passion about what you are doing is going to make that much easier to achieve your goals and dreams, and you will have fun while doing it.
• Focus is a key aspect of your personal leadership development plan. Every day we are bombarded with phone calls, tasks, messages and everyone trying to take our time away. But in reality, nobody can steal your time away. You are responsible for your time. It is YOU who lets them steal it. If you want to be a leader, you need to learn to manage this inevitable force and work with it, rather than against it. If you make the decision to maintain focus you are investing your time in something that will pay off in the long term.
• Write out a definite plan for Achieving your goals. A goal that isn't written down is merely a wish or a fantasy.
• Here is the hot tip. Go after what you want as energetically and as enthusiastically as you can, for as long as you can. You are not getting any younger.
Where does it all fit in?
Developing an action plan enables you to stand out amongst the crowd. Make the decision today to become an expert in your field. You can be ahead of the game, just through a little research into what the leaders in your field are doing. With that extra little bit of passion, you will soon find yourself the leader of your chosen field. You will be the benchmark, and just by following a few steps of your personal leadership development plan, you will find yourself living in a world where you are everything you have always wanted to be.
Are you desperate to become a successful leader? Are you ready to fight for your greatest dreams and desires? Don't struggle on alone - make the most of the free advice and information on our website,http://yourpersonalleadershipdevelopment.com/

Entrepreneur - The Vital Ingredient for Longevity

By Christine O'Dwyer

In challenging economic times you have a choice whether to cower with fear and regret or whether to start a business and profit. Did you know that more millionaires were made during The Great Depression of the 1930s than in any other era in US history? It is in the challenging times that entrepreneurs flourish.
There are so many reasons why people start their own business these include:
-Be the boss, make decisions, take time off when they want
-Greater possibility of significant financial rewards
-Prestige of leadership
-Involved 100% in the businesses
-Make a contribution and help the local economy
Once the business plan is made and the finance in underway they move forward with extreme motivation and positivity. However a shocking 80% of businesses fail within the first 3 years. Why is this? Whilst I do not have all the reasons why these businesses fail, I do have one way to increase the success rate. This is a secret shared by one of my mentors Simon Sinek.
The Missing Ingredient
As an entrepreneur you need to define the ultimate reason you are in business and be sure to distinguish this from your how you do business and the results you get. If you ask many entrepreneurs why they are in business many will say for the money, no that's a result not their 'why'. Others may say it's because they love what they do, no, that's how not their 'why'. You need to be very clear on your why. And yes it will most likely fall somewhere within the reasons listed above and will be very personal to you.
So what's so important about identifying your why. By identifying your why you will maintain your motivation and purpose. Everything decision you make in business will be guided by your why. If you are moving further away from your why you will steer yourself back on course with the necessary action. If moving towards your why you will drive ahead in a focused way.
When starting up in business or when running a business there are so many distractions. By knowing your why you can quickly eliminate the irrelevant ones and consider only the relevant distractions. This helps you stay focused on your business and move your business forward.
When starting my home business I thought of so many good reasons why to go into business. I also listed all the features of the business and fooled myself into thinking this was why I was going to be an entrepreneur. Such features included that it runs automatically 24 hours per day 7 days per week; continuous learning; relatively low initial investment. These were not my 'whys' these were my 'hows'. It took time for me to ultimately identify why I am an entrepreneur with this businesshttp://www.havingthebestday.com. My why is, so I can be at the school gate everyday to collect my children. After years of being torn between children and career I drew a line in the sand and said enough is enough. I took action with http://www.havingthebestday.com. What's your why?

Why Start Your Own Business?

By Chris Pascall

Why would anyone want to start their own business? I am sure this is a question that is asked every day. Here are some of the reasons why starting your own business is a good idea:-
You are your own boss
You make the decisions
You can work at your own pace, slow or quick
Financial freedom - money that is made is yours
Your ideas stay with you
You can take control of your life
You can make a difference - you may be a niche market providing a valuable service or product
With many businesses you don't need business premises
Lifestyle changes
Starting your own business may seem a little frightening. But if you have been working in a job that is similar to the business that you intend starting, then you will have knowledge of both the job and the industry. For example you may be a web designer working for a large organisation, thinking about setting up your own web design business.
To achieve all of the above effectively you'll need to develop the right mindset along the way. If you are passionate about your business this goes a very long way to being successful, otherwise instead of creating a successful business you could end up simply creating another job for yourself and working longer hours for less money.
Even in today with the uncertain economic climate it's still easier than ever to start your own business. You don't need business premises - you can start in your living room. You can start a business in your spare time with a huge investment. In this Internet, digital information age it's the right time to reach an international market.
If there's ever a right time to take the plunge, it's right now, today. My current business is internet marketing, which I do from home. I love helping others and making a difference.

Understanding The Business Entrepreneur

By Peter L Bennett

Who is the business entrepreneur?
The business entrepreneur is not a "person" but a part of everyone's personality. The entrepreneur is our visionary, the creator that can be found in each of us.
We're born with that quality and it defines our lives as we respond to what we see, hear, feel, and experience. What we do with it is up to us.
It is developed, nurtured, and given space to flourish or it is squelched, thwarted, without air or stimulation, and dies. Look at anyone around you and you will recognize whether or not the entrepreneur is alive and well within them.
The business entrepreneur in us sees opportunities everywhere we look, but many people see only problems everywhere they look. (I bet we all know people like that!)
The business entrepreneur in us is more concerned with choosing between opportunities than he or she is with failing to see the opportunities. Opportunities are everywhere if you are open to it.
We're all born with what we need to be a business entrepreneur.
We are born to create. Everyone is born with that drive, desire, passion, and interest. It is what we do with it that makes the difference.
Most business owners have not fully developed or nurtured the entrepreneur ideas within themselves. Working in the business consumes them with little time left to work on it.
There is no time or energy to be creative, nor the understanding that being creative is being alive, fully alive. Few business owners are fully alive; they're too busy working for a living.
A business entrepreneurial seizure
A business entrepreneurial seizure is the moment the entrepreneur decides it would be a great idea to start his or her own business. It's when one believes that knowing how to do the work of a business is all one needs to understand in order to start and grow a business.
So the accountant starts an accounting practice; the mechanic starts an auto repair business; the cook opens up a restaurant. They go to work, accounting, fixing cars, or cooking meals, none of which is the true work of the entrepreneur.
In doing so, the person who starts his or her own business is lost in the teeming confusion created by demands he or she never anticipated...the demands of organization, the demands of cash flow, the demands of people -- employees, customers, suppliers, banks, family -- and so forth and so on.
They are simply not prepared for the demands that are going to be made on them. The longer they're in business, the worse it gets. There is no vision; there is only being a slave to work and staying alive. The seizure is long gone; the entrepreneurial vision a vague memory.
The business entrepreneur is not really interested in doing the work;
He is interested in creating the way the company operates. In that regard, the entrepreneur is an inventor. He or she loves to invent, but does not love to manufacture or sell or distribute what he or she invents.
You will not find business entrepreneurs on the production line. You will find them in their office, their room, in their research center, in their mind, dreaming about the product, or building a sample of the product, or drawing a picture of the product on the back of a napkin. Entrepreneurs are dreaming, scheming, imagining, playing.... not doing it, doing it, doing it.
The business entrepreneur goes to work ON the business, not IN the business.
The business entrepreneur invents a business that is more successful than any other business. The business entrepreneur builds an enterprise; the technician builds a job.
It takes study, practice, continuous education and experience for the entrepreneur to create a world class company. While top entrepreneurs seem to be born with the qualities and traits that mark them, there has, in fact, been an enormous amount of trial and error in their lives.
In many ways, it is the school of hard knocks that can turn innocuous little stones into sparkling, outrageous gems called entrepreneurs. Giving up is not an option and challenges are just par for the course.
Trust your entrepreneurial spirit, never give in and chase your dreams until they become just as real in reality as they ever did in your mind.
You will be glad you did.
Make every post a winner!!
Become the business entrepreneur you have always wanted to be.
The business entrepreneur lies within all of us. Don't fight it. Get out of your own way and watch the magic.

"Entrepreneurs are simply those who understand that there is little difference between obstacle and opportunity and are able to turn both to their advantage."

7 Secrets to Entrepreneur Inspiration and Motivation Every Day

Even if you absolutely love your business, when you are an entrepreneur it can be difficult to find daily inspiration and motivation. However, when you can wake up each day excited and ready to go, your business and your personal life will thrive. There are tremendous benefits to finding inspiration and motivation every day. Here's how to get it done:
#1 Gratitude
Gratitude accomplishes amazing things. One way to wake up motivated and inspired is to create a habit of gratitude. Journal the things you're grateful for at the end of every day. Or wake up and before you get out of bed, journal what you're grateful for today. Create a habit of gratitude and you'll establish a positive and energetic mindset. There really is so much to be grateful for.
#2 Set Small Goals
Long-term goals are great. However, when a goal is far off in the future, it's tough to find motivation to achieve them. However, smaller goals can be inspiring especially for an entrepreneur. You can set smaller daily or weekly goals to spur inspiration and motivation. Remember to set goals that get you excited. If you're not a money-motivated person, for example, then a monetary goal isn't going to motivate you.
#3 Do What You Love First
It's easy to get into a ritual rut. You wake in the morning, have your coffee, check your email and start working. The thing you love to do most is often down on your priority list. This makes starting your day less than exhilarating. However, if you rearrange your daily routine and do what you love first, then getting out of bed is easy and exciting.
#4 Affirmations
Mindset is powerful. An affirmation is a positive statement that helps you create inspiration and motivation. Affirmations help reaffirm and inspire a positive mindset. Determine what's preventing you from feeling motivated and inspired each day and create an affirmation that supports change.
#5 Reward Yourself
Some days are just tough to get through and even more challenging when you are an entrepreneur. Instead of trying to avoid them or forcing yourself to push through them, reward yourself. Rewards help you stay focused on the end result and the silver lining. Additionally, a reward doesn't have to be huge. Sometimes a simple reward like your favorite coffee drink at the local coffee shop can be enough to help you stay positive and inspired all day long.
#6 Surround Yourself
One great way to stay inspired and motivated is to surround yourself with inspiration. Listen to inspiring music. Create a home office that you enjoy spending time in. Surround yourself with the things you love. It'll make each and every day so much more enjoyable.
#7 Take Time Off
When most people think about taking time off, they look at annual vacations. However, it's important to take more time off than just a week or two a year. Consider taking time off each week or month. Even a few hours or a day or two can really make a difference, as an entrepreneur large blocks of time out of the office usually don't happen. It gives you time to recharge and find that original source of inspiration and motivation.
Building and growing a business is difficult. Finding inspiration and motivation can make the difference between a struggling business and discontent to a thriving business and joy. Use these seven tips to help find inspiration and motivation each and every day.
